OTTAWA, March 10 (Reuters) – Alphabet Inc’s Google (GOOGL.O) will halt blocking information article content from some Canadian users’ look for benefits on March 16, a firm govt instructed a Canadian parliamentary panel investigating the tech firm on Friday.
Last month, Google commenced tests confined information censorship as a possible reaction to a Canadian governing administration monthly bill that aims to compel on the internet platforms to pay back publishers in Canada for news content.
Google has claimed that the test is like thousands of other products assessments the business conducts on a regular foundation.
The tests, which the business claims influenced considerably less than 4% of Canadian consumers, began on Feb. 9 and had been scheduled to operate for 5 months.
Talking to a parliamentary committee investigating the exams, Google’s community policy manager Jason Kee confirmed that the exams would close next week.
