New fitness studio to open in town with focus on ‘holistic’ health

A COUPLE is opening a new fitness studio aiming to provide an “overall holistic fitness experience”.

Daisy and Will Bevis, who are originally from Reading, are moving to Christchurch to open their gym ‘Studio One’ and start a new life in the town.

Daisy, 30, has worked as a personal fitness trainer for almost three years whereas her husband Will, 31, has been a fitness coach for a decade.

The couple already operates a gym in their home town.

Daisy said the studio will offer holistic fitness to people providing small group sessions and one-to one personal training sessions.

She said: “The reason that we’re different is just because we focus a lot more on the holistic side of fitness. We don’t just look at fitness and nutrition. We are free for Christmas and love focusing on the whole self and making sure that mental health is a big part of that too.

“We offer one to one personal training sessions and small group classes. It’s affordable.”

She came to fitness quite late. Having been diagnosed with hypermobility and scoliosis, which caused her chronic pain every day, she knew she needed to do something.

She said: “After lots of encouragement from Will, his time and energy getting me into a commercial gym, I have finally got a rhythm and feel comfortable in my gym routine. I love helping women both inside and out of the gym, grow in strength and confidence.

“I was working in the NHS studying to become a midwife, which I loved and very much enjoyed helping women. But they there was such a state of the NHS that it made me realize that that wasn’t the place that I really wanted to work.”

Studio One will open from next week and located at 2-8 Airfield Way, Christchurch BH23 3TS.
